This is one those drawings whose origin is in the flash just before drifting off to sleep which makes you climb out of bed to scribble it down before it evaporates.

The idea was a reflection on youth which has a lot to do with The Nursery project my collaborators Kathryn Miriam, Michael Sanzone and I are currently working on.

Aqua Art Miami Fundraiser

Event date: September 25, 2009

Earl Barrett-Holloway, Kathryn Miriam, and Michael Sanzone need your help to participate in the Aqua Art Miami Beach art fair, which opens December 3rd and runs through December 6th, 2009. Our project is titled The Nursery and we are the only independent artists accepted to the fair that are not represented by a gallery! In short, our installation hopes to be a seemingly ordinary retail store for children, which, in actuality, caters to adults through childhood connections. The "store" is comprised of original artwork and multiples in the form of coloring books and puzzles and limited edition prints in the form of onesies, and also including a unique educational book to be integrated into mainstream Kindergarten classrooms.

Aqua Art Miami http://www.aquaartmiami.com is an arts event that coincides with Art Basel Miami Beach. The two fairs make for a massive weeklong bazaar comprised of hundreds of artists, art buyers, dealers and gallery owners. The three of us (The Nursery) have a strong overarching concept for our individual show in Miami, which will give us a unique presence at the fair.

This is where you come in:

With the absence of any representation we have zero financial backing. In our present economy our support network is essential in generating enough capital not only to get to Miami, but also to create the actual work that we’re trying to do as a group. Our presentation is a multi-faceted production that isn’t possible without certain components of it being manufactured. The process is costly but necessary.

We know that even in good times it’s difficult to contribute and we’re providing an incentive for your much-needed support. We’ll be having a raffle in which you can use your tickets to bid on specific items. Tickets are only $15 and drinks and refreshments will be provided.

Mission Statement:

London International Creative Competition is a vehicle for facilitating contact between uniquely talented artists and an international audience.

History:

LICC was founded by the Farmani Group in 2006. Among other things, Farmani group has founded many charities, businesses, and organizations including the award-winning VUE magazine, The Lucie Awards (the Oscars of photography), , Focus on AIDS,International Photography Awards, Px3-PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE PARIS, Art For New York, the Farmani Gallery, aNet Communications, Design Awards and FYIdesign.

Competitions will be held annually followed by an an awards ceremony and publication.

Based in the internationally acclaimed artistic center of London, L.I.C.C. looks forward to

hosting the first awards show in June 2009. Competitions will be held annually, followed by a

spectacular award ceremony and publication.

Second Annual Governors Island Art Fair

Description:

The Governors Island Art Fair is an annual arts event on Governors Island in New York Harbor. The mission of the fair is to provide exhibition space to independent artists and give the community an opportunity to experience artwork they might not otherwise have a chance to see. Unlike other art fairs, The Governors Island Art Fair is entirely run by artists because we believe artists know what is best for their own work. We hope to preserve and support the arts community in New York and to demonstrate a vision for the future of Governors Island as an international arts destination.

The Governors Island Art Fair was launched in 2008 with little more than an idea and no funding. With the participation of over 50 artists, thousands of people attended. This year we are building on the success of last year's fair to provide more space to more artists. The increasing popularity of Governors Island as a cultural destination will ensure even greater attendance this year. This year's event will take place from Saturday, September 5 through Sunday, September 27.

Two free ferry boats launch from both lower Manhattan at the Maritime Center (Slip 6) and another from Dumbo Brooklyn right at the base of the south side of the Brooklyn Bridge.

My Boss' Family Line

Not unlike the current form of the furred Brooklyn Bartons, it's ancient ancestor (Bartonicus Minimus) was myopic, obsessed with repetition and incurably addicted to caffeinated summer iced drinks. The ancient Barton was slowly coaxed on to dry land and shed it’s ocean faring ways in the search for easy access to Marlboro cigarettes and sugar in it's caffeinated drinks-both being scarce in the ocean depths.

Unlike the current much more anthropoid-even simian Bartons, it's sea dwelling ancestors ate fish and various mollusks that were in abundance millions of years ago in the shallow coastline off what is now known as Coney Island. The Bartons of today thrive on M.S.G. takeout, cheap beer and roasted chicken.
